JOB SUMMARY: Performs skilled work at the journeyman level, in accordance with the Mechanical Refrigeration Code and other standards/regulations, in the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the refrigeration equipment such as chillers, heat pumps, roof top air conditioning units, package air conditioning units, blood fridges, ultra low temperature freezers, refrigerators, ice machines and refrigerated display cases utilizing meters, refrigeration gauges, leak detectors, appropriate hand and power tools and equipment such as a computer to access the Building Automation System. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCETwo years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic.KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIESAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
