Regional Mental Health Coordinator

Location: GEE Network - Southeast Michigan | Travel between campuses required

FLSA Status: Exempt | Full-Time

Reports To: GEE Director / Academy Principal

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Mental Health Coordinator provides oversight, coordination, and direct support for student mental health services across multiple GEE campuses, ensuring a consistent, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to student wellness.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field required
  • Active Michigan licensure: Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Psychologist
  • Michigan School Social Work approval or School Counselor endorsement preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in school-based or youth mental health services
  • Satisfactory criminal background check

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide clinical oversight and consultation to School Social Workers and counselors across GEE campuses; facilitate regular team meetings and case reviews
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate school-wide mental health programs and Tier 2/3 student support frameworks
  • Provide direct crisis intervention services to students at assigned or requesting campuses
  • Serve as a liaison between GEE schools and community mental health agencies, Medicaid-funded services, and outside providers
  • Support staff training on trauma-informed practices, mental health literacy, suicide prevention, and culturally responsive support
  • Maintain program records, outcome data, and compliance documentation related to mental health services

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
