Job description

Essential Functions

  • Lead and coordinate daily production activities on the assigned line to ensure targets for safety, quality, and output are achieved
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production equipment to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Ensure all products meet quality specifications, including inspection of glass for defects and adherence to customer requirements
  • Provide direction and support to team members (e.g., truckers, operators) to ensure efficient workflow and proper job coverage
  • Complete and verify all required production documentation, reports, and system entries accurately and on time
  • Respond to production issues in real time, including equipment faults, quality concerns, and staffing gaps
  • Ensure proper line setup, changeovers, and start-ups are completed according to standard operating procedures
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices on shift
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and other departments to resolve issues and support operations
  • Ability to build and maintain strong and respectful partnerships with all levels of the organization
  • Support training and onboarding of new employees and provide guidance to less experienced team members
  • Demonstrates dependable attendance and willingness to support overtime requirements
  • Positive attitude and consistent presence on the shop floor
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required • Previous manufacturing or production experience, preferably in a glass or automotive environment • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate team activities in a fast-paced setting • Strong understanding of quality standards, safety requirements, and production processes • Ability to read and complete production documentation and follow detailed work instructions

Other Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts)
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as required
  • Comfortable working in a hot, industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work continental shifts (days/nights, weekends as required)
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and technical aptitude
