Rehabilitation Specialist
Job description
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) services consist of day programs and supportive living programs. Clients in our day programs have access to group activities, individual support, and mental health services. Clients in the supportive living program receive support in maintaining independent living and have access to the day program.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am to 4pm
What to expect.
This is a direct care opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment. You will provide a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages the overall independence and wellbeing of your clients.
Under general supervision, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a residential counselor as you work one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
- Ensuring medication compliance which involves responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
- Working as a part of a collaborative service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
- Providing transportation and attending clients' medical appointments. You will provide advocacy services throughout the appointment and ensure that all follow-up instruction is documented and/or followed through on.
- Assist in the daily food operations and as-needed catering operations. Will help ensure that meals are attractive, nutritionally complete, appealing, and delivered fresh and hot. Will coordinate the preparation and delivery of off-site meals.
- Helps ensure that food service documentation and licensing is accurate, complete, and current. Will also ensure compliance with all Department of Labor and State Laws, regulations, guidelines, and directives. Will participate in all required food service trainings.
- Monitor accurate portion control and inventory control. Will negotiate food purchases and delivery and assist in general inventory control for food services.
- Ensure overall sanitation and Department of health regulations are met and exceeded.
- Ensures all CACFP documentation is completed accurately and timely.
As you spend time with your clients, you will find yourself developing a rapport with your clients where you become part of their trusted support system . You will see their wins as your wins as they work their way through the program and cheer them on as they progress in their recovery.
** All direct care staff will be thoroughly trained to provide all services and should expect supportive and ever-present mentorship from senior staff members as they perform the requested duties.

What we need from you.
- Work requires the ability to read, write, and speak English and working knowledge of specific patient population served, e.g., children and adolescents or adults with mental disorders.
- High school Diploma or equivalent required. BA/BS in Human Service and/or related area preferred.
- Work requires current, valid SERVSAFE certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain additional certifications/trainings as may be required by certain programs (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Infection Control, Food Safety and Handling, and Crisis Intervention/Suicidal Protocol).
- Must possess direct knowledge of or be willing to learn and implement the CACFP program.
- The willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
- A driver's license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
- Must have availability to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays depending upon need of the program.
Pay rate for this position is $19.31 hourly.
