Paralegal – Complex Litigation
Location: Long Beach, California (Hybrid)
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $34.00–$38.00 per hour DOE

A growing mid-sized law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join this collaborative team and provide critical support to attorneys handling high-exposure litigation from inception through trial. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented litigation professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants meaningful involvement in complex cases, strategy development, and trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Litigation Support
- Manage litigation files from case inception through trial
- Maintain litigation calendars and monitor critical deadlines
- Coordinate and process filings in California state and federal courts
- Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Legal Research & Document Preparation
- Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and/or LexisNexis
- Draft, revise, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents
- Prepare case summaries, legal memoranda, and litigation analyses
Discovery
- Draft and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
- Organize, review, and analyze document productions
- Prepare meet-and-confer correspondence and discovery-related materials
- Medical records; coordinate the retention of medical experts and transmit medical records and case materials for expert review.
Motion & Pleading Support
- Assist attorneys in preparing motions, including summary judgment motions, demurrers, motions to strike, and discovery motions
- Compile supporting exhibits, declarations, and evidentiary materials
- Prepare filings for court submission
Deposition & Trial Support
- Coordinate deposition scheduling and preparation
- Summarize deposition transcripts and key testimony
- Assist attorneys during depositions, mediations, and trial
- Organize trial exhibits, witness files, and trial binders
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in litigation
- Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and court rules
- Experience with California court e-filing systems
- Proficiency with Westlaw and/or LexisNexis
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
