Overview
Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients. Qualifications
Age of Patients Served
All Age Groups
Required Education
GED or High School Diploma.
Preferred Education
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
Necessary Skills
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer/patient service, problem solving, time management and organizational skill, be a team player, excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette.
- Ability to recognize life-threatening findings and notify physicians.
- Ability to calculate test results.
- Uses good body mechanics.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Serves as patient advocate.
- Good organizational skills basic computer data entry.
Required Licensure/Certifications
BLS certification from the American Heart Association CCI or ARDMS required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
Amount of Experience
Less than one (1) year minimum.
Preferred Experience
