JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Specialty: CRNA - General Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Duluth, MN 55805 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Vacancy - Long-Term Permanent Search PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult & Pediatric Average Daily Volume: 4-5 patients/day Case Mix: Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Thoracic, Obstetrics, ENT, Pediatrics FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level II EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesiologist supervision (Supervised model) Support Staff: RNs: 1 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: General Anesthesia Adult Trauma Obstetrical Cases Neurosurgical cases (Head, Spine) Thoracic cases (except open heart) Complex vascular cases (except open heart) Complex orthopedic cases Pain management techniques Ventilation management Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues Arterial Line placement Preferred: Pediatric Neonatal Spinal Anesthesia Epidural Anesthesia Regional Anesthesia Surgery Open Heart Anesthesia Post-op epidural Post-op extremity blocks Epidural steroid for Lumbar Epidural steroid for Cervical Transforaminal (Lumbar, Cervical) Use of x-ray guidance in performance of blocks Central Line placement PA Catheter placement CRNA supervision JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Certified (BC required) Licenses: MN License or Universal License (IMLC) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Experience: Pediatric training preferred Duties & Responsibilities Administer general anesthesia and sedation for a variety of surgical cases Provide anesthesia care in a Level II trauma center with 15 operating rooms and 4 endo suites Cover adult and pediatric cases including obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, vascular, and orthopedic procedures Deliver pediatric anesthesia for ENT and other outpatient specialty areas in ambulatory surgery settings Collaborate with the supervising anesthesiologist in a supervised care model
