Postdoctoral Research Associate

This full-time post is available from 03/08/2026. This post is offered as a fixed term contract and is funded by Convex Seascape Survey until 31/03/2027.
In line with the University's fair employment for all principles , any further funding opportunities identified will be reviewed and discussed during the contract.
The starting salary will be from £34,610 on Grade E, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
The Role
Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy
T he Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Professor Callum Roberts on the Convex Seascape Survey, a five-year, multi-partner, international collaborative investigation of blue carbon on continental shelves.
The post will include analysing and interpreting data on fish bioturbation impacts on the Jersey seabed; exploring and describing the history of ecosystem change in the Irish Sea over the last century based on multiple data sources; and preparing them for submission for journal publication, including undertaking revisions after peer-review.
About You
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD ( or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
