FTI Consulting is looking for a talented professional at the Director level (5 - 9 years exp) to join our Melbourne valuations and forensics team.
As a key member, you will be an integral part of this fast-growing practice. FTI Consulting has a dedicated team of valuation specialists providing valuations of businesses, intangible assets and many other types of financial assets for taxation, strategy, regulatory, M&A, accounting, and litigation purposes.

Each year we interview dozens of entrepreneurs and c-suite management, and along the way, develop deep expertise in many fascinating industries.

- Patents and other intellectual property
- Contracts
- Infrastructure assets
Our valuation specialists are also active in the valuation community including holding roles with local and international accounting and valuation bodies.
You will work directly with other senior members of the team and your professional development will be enhanced through internal and external training, on-the-job coaching and mentoring.
What You'll Do
Execution of a wide range of valuation engagements for strategy, transactions, regulatory, tax reporting, accounting, and litigation purposes
Support day-to-day engagement execution, including interaction with clients, financiers, auditors, tax advisors and legal advisers
Undertake company and industry analysis
Participate in interviews with senior management of our clients to understand their businesses.
Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysis
Perform valuations of shares, businesses, debt, intangible assets, and quantify loss and damage in commercial disputes
Compose clear and concise written reports summarising our valuation analysis
Assist with new business development activities
Develop financial models and reporting templates
Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities

What You Will Need to Succeed
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines. Other degrees in liberal arts or sciences are also considered if you can also demonstrate and aptitude for financial analysis.
5 - 9 years of professional experience, including experience in business and/or intangible asset valuations
Strong understanding of, and interest in, valuations and corporate finance
Proficiency in both written and spoken English
Experience in writing reports
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, an PowerPoint
Adaptability in a fast paced and dynamic working environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information
Experience in leading small teams
Ability to work on multiple client matters at one time
Ability to work independently
Ability to work with senior team members and the client in deadline-driven projects
Strong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalism
Willingness to travel for work

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $125,000
Maximum Pay: $145,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual Compensation is determined on a wide array of relevant factors
including market considerations, business needs, and an individual's location, skills, level of experience and qualifications
