Workers Compensation Supervisor
Job description
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- The Workers Compensation Supervisor works with the Business Office, HIM, and Patient Access to ensure the health system receives Usual and Customary Reimbursement on Workers Compensation claims
SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Director of Patient Access
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Proficient in payment review systems, hospital information systems and coding methodologies.
- Ability to understand and interpret revenue cycle workflows across multiple departments
- Ability to work with medical groups to ensure claims are financial cleared prior to date of service
- Financially clear all scheduled Workers Comp claims prior to date of service
- Ability to manage vendor to ensure claims are pain in full
- Ability to analyze ROI generated from role
- Effective utilization of all internal automation and software applications.
- Accurately map out revenue cycle workflows pre/post financial clearance transition
- Ability to present project results to executive level audiences
- Can effectively manage multiple projects with innovation, creativity, and vision.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 years + working experience in healthcare reimbursement (Workers Comp Experience Preferred)
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience with PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database software applications are desired. Previous auditing experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English; Strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills; Ability to communicate orally and in written form. Must be detail oriented.
- Requires emotional stability and maturity; Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight; Exhibits organizational and leadership ability. Must be team oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work requires light duty lifting.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
