The Senior Analyst (SAP Development) is responsible for delivering robust, high-quality SAP ABAP solutions that drive technical excellence and support critical business applications. You will work closely with functional analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient and scalable technical solutions. You will champion coding standards, support ongoing SAP operations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform. This is a multi-faceted role with strong opportunities to work across modern SAP technologies.
What you’ll be doing
•
Technical Design: Collaborate with functional analysts and solution architects to produce comprehensive technical design documents (TDDs) that meet business and system requirements.

ABAP Development: Develop complex, high-quality ABAP code across all RICEFW object types (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) using OO-ABAP best practices, ensuring code is efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
•
Code Reviews & Standards: Conduct thorough peer code reviews, enforce development standards and transport discipline, and drive consistency across the development team through structured governance practices.
•
SAP Integration & Interfaces: Design and implement integrations using RFC, ALE/IDoc, and OData services. Work closely with middleware and functional teams to ensure reliable end-to-end data exchange between SAP and external systems.

Performance Tuning: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ABAP programs, database queries, and SAP applications using tools such as SQL Trace (ST05), ABAP Trace (SE30), and Runtime Analysis.
•
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve complex technical incidents in the SAP landscape. Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement preventive measures to reduce future occurrences.

Documentation: Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation including functional specifications, technical design documents, unit test scripts, and change logs to support audits and knowledge transfer.

Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical mentoring to junior and mid-level developers, support capability building within the team, and actively contribute to internal knowledge-sharing sessions and communities of practice.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all ABAP developments are thoroughly unit tested and participate in quality assurance activities including SIT and UAT support to deliver reliable, defect-free software.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage proactively with functional leads across SD, MM, and FI domains to understand business requirements, provide technical feasibility input, and ensure delivered solutions align with process and compliance needs.
What you’ll bring
•
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 6–9 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience; SAP certification is an advantage.
•
Core ABAP & OO-ABAP: RICEFW objects, BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, ALV, Scripts and Smartforms.
•
Modern SAP Technologies: OData Services (SAP Gateway/SEGW), CDS Views, AMDP, and good knowledge on SAP UI5 and Fiori.
•
Integration & Tools: RFC, ALE/IDoc, EDI, SAP PI/PO awareness; SQL Trace (ST05), ABAP Runtime Analysis (SE30), ABAP Debugger.
•
Functional Domain Knowledge: Sales & Distribution (SD/AFS), Materials Management (MM), Finance (FI) – understanding of core business processes in each module.
•
Soft Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration, structured problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
•
On-Time Delivery: Percentage of development tasks and project deliverables completed within agreed timelines and within estimated effort.
•
Code Quality: Reduction in post-go-live defects attributable to development activities; adherence to coding standards as measured through peer reviews.
•
Incident & Change Response: Average time-to-resolution for P1/P2 incidents; first-time fix rate for production support issues and change requests.
•
Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from functional leads and business stakeholders on technical delivery, communication quality, and responsiveness.
