Job description

We are currently recruiting a reliable and proactive Evening Caretaker to support school sites across West Cork, primarily based in Bantry. This is a key onsite role during evening hours, ensuring the safety, security and smooth running of school facilities, particularly during sports events and activities. This role is ideal for a responsible, flexible individual with good practical/DIY skills who enjoys working independently and being a trusted presence onsite. Duties to include - Be the onsite point of contact during evening hours (typically 6:30pm–8:30pm on weekdays) Provide site supervision during sports events and occasional weekend tournaments (including potential 12-hour shifts on Saturdays or Sundays) Act as a Fire Warden (training/certification required) Provide basic First Aid assistance in the event of an emergency Support the safe operation of the building, including training in HVAC systems Carry out light maintenance and DIY tasks as required Ensure the premises remain secure, safe and well maintained Report any incidents, hazards or maintenance issues promptly There may also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts across other West Cork schools (particularly if you have access to a car) and potentially in university settings in Cork City.
