Business Need / Purpose of Role

The Liner Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales of liner shipping services by identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction through Ecuadorian export and import sales and client exploration. The role involves promoting the company’s shipping services, meeting revenue targets, and supporting overall commercial growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Seek out and obtain new business opportunities.
  • Make sales calls to both new and existing customers.
  • Meet the commercial targets and identify new business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of our products, competition, market and customers. Prepare schedules and quotations.
  • To negotiate and agree, within defined limits, contract amendments and renewals with customers.
  • To provide forecasting and other reports to Sales Manager as required.
  • Ensure that customers’ feedback on service delivery issues and improvements are reviewed and action taken as required.
  • Provide accurate forecast in terms of equipment and allocation needed to meet customer requirements
  • Control and follow up bookings and loadings from their customers.
  • Give feedback on business not accomplished under their responsibility.
  • Follow the pricing and commercial strategies and guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate quality service to the customers.
  • Develop strong business relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Handle sales activities in line with existing procedures and limits of authority.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in freight forwarding or similar business
  • Sales experience in containerized sales and/or freight logistics
  • Previous experience in LATAM/reefer market, other similar experience will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of international trade, global logistics, and supply chain operations.
  • Must have an advanced communication (verbal, written and listening) skills in order to communicate at different levels throughout the organization and with exterior organizations, etc.
  • Bilingual, fluent in English & Spanish preferred.
  • Must possess an advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Maritime, Business Administration, Sale and Marketing or a related major in a public or accredited private academic institution desired but not required.
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in Liner Sales, NVOCC/Freight Forwarding
  • Working knowledge of operating and / or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems.
  • Experience of working to pre-defined processes and procedures and delivering work in accordance to SLA (Service Level Agreements).
  • Prior port agency (shipping services) experience with exposure to various commodities preferred but not required.
  • Experience working within complex international organizations.
