Goods Inward / Manual Inspector - What does the job involve?
To carry out Goods Inward inspection of supplied parts to the company. The measurement of internally manufactured parts and verification of externally received product to support the creation and verification of First Article Inspection Reports to AS 9102 requirements.
Hours of work: 39 hours per week.
Core shift - Monday to Thursday 6.45am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm with 30-minute break for lunch
Goods Inward / Manual Inspector - What will my responsibilities include?’
- To carry out Goods Inward inspection for all component parts and documentation entering the company ensuring compliance to design specification and contractual requirements.
- Report progress regularly on the assigned tasks, highlighting where agreed target dates are not going to be met
- To identify and record any non-conformances to specification requirements. Liaise with other departments to resolve such issues.
- To generate and help compile internal First Article Inspection Reports to AS 9102 requirements
- To review all Material coming into the business and bring them onto the internal ERP
- To produce and maintain accurate Control and inspection records and look at reducing the company’s inspection effort by following companies ship to stock process
- To interpret engineering drawings
- Using manual measuring techniques
- Help with the Internal Audit program when necessary
- Control defective items via segregation from good product
- Raise and maintain relevant non-conformance reports.
- Adhere to all instructional and Health & Safety guidelines for the use of equipment to maintain a safe work environment
Goods Inward / Manual Inspector - What key skills and experience do I need?
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential)
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in the use of manual measuring equipment.
- Work to a high standard of accuracy.
- Good attention to detail.
- Understanding of drawing tolerances & specifications
- Knowledge of Manual Inspection processes (Desirable)
Goods Inward / Manual Inspector - What qualifications should I have?
- Basic O’ Level / GCSE Qualifications, technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ).
- Proficient in the use of I.T software including Word & Excel
- Full Apprenticeship / time served in machining, or relevant skills applicable to the role (Desirable)
- Security Clearance (Desirable)
