The Plumber Foreman supervises the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems and their related appurtenances, as well as all distilled and demineralized water distribution systems, fire protection, safety deluge shower and eye wash systems, lawn sprinkler systems, acid waste and dilution basins, as well as campus water main, subsoil drainage, and distribution system in accordance with recognized procedures and techniques common to the trade of a plumber.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized plumber apprenticeship program or five (5) years (60 months) of full-time journey-level plumber experience.
  • Four (4) years (48 months) of additional full-time journeyman-level plumber experience.
  • Possession of current State of Illinois Plumber's License.
  • As required by position to be filled, current license/certification consistent with vehicles, machinery and equipment that is routinely used in the general occupational area. *
  • Dependent upon institutional need, incumbents may be required to obtain job-related certification or license, such as a valid Illinois Department of Public Health Lead Abatement Worker License.
