About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of our growing trucking company, managing a fleet of 100 trucks. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for full-cycle financial reporting, cashflow management, and providing sound financial insights to support operational strategy and decision-making.

You will work closely with the MD to advise on commercial strategy, oversee internal and statutory financial reporting, and ensure compliance and transparency in all finance functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic logistics environment and brings both technical expertise and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

•

Financial Reporting (Internal & Statutory)

Prepare and oversee all aspects of internal financial reporting and statutory accounts up to the balance sheet. Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and deadlines.

Cashflow & Working Capital Management

Maintain tight control over cashflow planning, forecasting, and liquidity management. Provide regular cashflow reports and strategic recommendations to the MD.

Strategic Financial Advisory

Act as a financial business partner to the Managing Director, advising on operational efficiency, cost management, and long-term financial planning.

•

Audit & Compliance

Manage relationships with external/internal auditors. Ensure audit readiness and compliance with all statutory requirements. Provide dual reporting to the outsourced internal auditor and MD.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and analysis. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Develop annual budgets, conduct variance analysis, and manage rolling forecasts in alignment with business goals.

•

Systems & Controls

Oversee the implementation and improvement of financial systems, internal controls, and financial policies to support scalability and operational growth.

Key Requirements

•

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA certification preferred).

•

Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.

•

Experience in logistics, transportation, or asset-heavy industries highly desirable.

•

Proven ability to manage the full financial cycle up to balance sheet.

•

Strong background in cashflow forecasting and financial strategy.

•

Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring teams.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.

•

High proficiency in financial software, reporting tools, and Excel.
