Donor Relations Specialist
Job description
We are seeking a relationship-driven and detail-oriented Donor Relations Specialist to enhance donor engagement, retention, and overall giving experience. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between the organization and its donors, ensuring consistent communication, transparency, and stewardship. This is a fully remote position ideal for a professional who is passionate about nonprofit impact and excels at building meaningful, long-term relationships.
What You'll Do
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, sponsors, and partners
• Manage donor communications, including acknowledgments, updates, newsletters, and impact reports
• Support fundraising campaigns, outreach initiatives, and donor engagement strategies
• Track donor contributions, interactions, and engagement metrics using CRM systems
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of donor acknowledgments and recognition efforts
• Collaborate with fundraising, marketing, and leadership teams to align messaging and outreach
• Assist in planning and coordinating donor events, virtual engagements, and campaigns
• Analyze donor data to identify trends and improve retention and engagement strategies
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and data protection standards
What We're Looking For
• 2–5+ years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, customer success, or client relations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, DonorPerfect)
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment
• A passion for mission-driven work and community impact
