About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing construction organization in Northern Indiana, is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to lead and strengthen safety operations across active job sites.

This role is critical in driving OSHA compliance, reducing risk exposure, and building a proactive, safety-first culture across commercial construction projects. You will work directly with leadership and field teams to implement best-in-class safety practices and ensure regulatory excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Identify job site hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies

Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures

Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and state/local safety regulations

Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple sites

Maintain OSHA logs, certifications, incident reports, and compliance documentation

Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; determine root cause and implement corrective action

Manage OSHA reporting, permitting, and required regulatory documentation

Develop and lead EHS training programs, new hire safety orientations, and monthly safety meetings

Partner with project managers and leadership to continuously improve safety systems and best practices

Requirements

Minimum 3+ years of experience in construction safety or EHS

OSHA 30 certification required

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations specific to commercial construction

Experience with workers compensation and case management

Proven ability to manage confidential personnel-related safety matters

Strong documentation, reporting, and compliance management skills

Excellent communication and training presentation abilities
