Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supply Chain Manager to join an FMCG organization in Kuwait . This role involves managing administrative supply chain activities, ensuring timely procurement, and optimizing relationships with suppliers to foster quality service.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Lead and mentor the supply chain team, setting clear goals and expectations.
  • Monitor team activities and job results, facilitating effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate team performance, encouraging a culture of responsibility and achievement.

Timely Procurement

  • Generate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services to end-user departments.
  • Manage foreign and local purchase orders across various departments including Maintenance, Production, Marketing, and HR.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance service quality.

Cost Optimization and Analysis

  • Continuously explore cost-saving opportunities through market analysis and supplier evaluation.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, prioritizing breakdown orders and urgent requests.
  • Monitor pending purchase requisitions and take necessary actions to finalize orders promptly.

Supplier Management

  • Prepare supplier creation requests for management approval.
  • Oversee purchase order execution, ensuring compliance with company protocols.
  • Arrange shipping and logistics, coordinating with freight forwarders and ensuring timely delivery.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Provide guidance to suppliers on proper documentation for customs clearance.
  • Approve draft documents prior to dispatch and monitor delivery to stores.
  • Manage the invoice approval process for suppliers and service providers, ensuring timely payments.

Inventory and Claims Management

  • Monitor inventory accruals and address discrepancies between payments and received orders.
  • Report and manage claims regarding damaged or incorrect deliveries.

Reporting and Data Management

  • Prepare reports for the Executive Manager on supply chain performance and metrics.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and training for team members.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the company and the State of Kuwait.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain
  • Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CSCP, Six Sigma, Lean) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain or procurement management.
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required .
