About the Role
A national law firm is seeking a highly experienced attorney to join its Labor & Employment practice in Orange County, California. The position may be titled Senior Counsel , Of Counsel , or Partner , depending on experience and qualifications. This hybrid role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in employment litigation, particularly in handling individual FEHA matters. A portable book of business is not required. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and take the lead on sophisticated and high-impact cases.
Responsibilities
•
Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters, with a focus on individual FEHA cases
•
Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation
•
Provide strategic legal counsel on employment-related issues and risk mitigation
•
Collaborate with other attorneys on complex litigation and provide mentorship where appropriate
•
Engage directly with clients, demonstrating excellent service and responsiveness
•
Maintain compliance with firm processes and client reporting standards
Qualifications
•
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
•
Active license to practice law in the State of California
•
Extensive experience in labor and employment litigation
•
Deep knowledge of California employment law, including FEHA, wage & hour, and administrative agency matters
•
Proven ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
•
Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and client communication skills
Desired Qualifications
•
First-chair experience in depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
•
Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior attorneys
•
Demonstrated interest in employment law and litigation strategy
•
Ability to build strong client relationships in a collaborative law firm environment
•
Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities
