Senior/Lead Data Engineer (Hybrid | Sign-on Bonus)
Location: Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, Vietnam Work Mode: Hybrid
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior/Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize large-scale data systems that power critical business decisions. This role is 75% focused on data engineering (data pipelines, architectures, automation) and 25% supporting data science (ML workflows, advanced analytics).
Youll work with technologies like Python, Airflow, Kubernetes, and AWS to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
•
Architect, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure (data lakes, pipelines, metadata repositories).
•
Collaborate with data scientists to support data modeling, ML workflows, and experimentation.
•
Build and optimize large-scale batch and real-time processing systems.
•
Automate workflows with Python, Apache Airflow, and AWS services.
•
Manage data storage and compute resources using AWS (S3, Glue, EC2, Lambda).
•
Implement strong testing and validation procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
•
Stay up to date with best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering and data science.
Required Skills
•
Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or related field.
•
Strong experience in Python (pandas, pyspark), Apache Airflow , and AWS services (Glue, S3, EC2, Lambda).
•
Hands-on with Kubernetes/Docker for containerized environments.
•
Experience with big data/columnar databases (Athena, Redshift, Hive/Hadoop, Vertica).
•
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodePipeline).
•
Proven ability to design and manage data architectures for large-scale operations.
•
Experience collaborating with data science teams for feature engineering and ML support.
Nice-to-have
•
Experience with AWS Sagemaker or Databricks .
•
Knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Redis) .
•
Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ for event streaming.
•
Exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI).
•
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (ELK, Datadog).
•
Understanding of data privacy and security practices.
