Job Description
The Opportunity: CACI is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Test Engineer to join our dynamic team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD supporting a US Army client. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test strategies for a portfolio of complex software systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of testing large-scale, distributed systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategies for a diverse range of systems and environments, including cloud, on-prem, and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) for modern web applications, ensuring integration and continuous testing within a DevSecOps pipeline.
- Plan and coordinate test execution with internal product offices and external test organizations such as the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) and the Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E).
- Develop and manage test plans, including Test & Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), procedures, and reports for testing software applications at scale.
- Oversee execution of daily testing activities and provide on-the-floor technical support and observation reports.
- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and test analysis on complex project requirements.
- Translate system requirements into comprehensive test cases that account for large-scale performance and load.
- Develop methodologies and automated tools for data reduction and analysis.
- Assist in the development of software releases, ensuring quality assurance and configuration management.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in developing and executing test strategies for systems of systems software products. Additional directly relevant work experience can be considered a replacement for the Bachelor's degree.
- Familiarity with the DAU Test & Evaluation process and Army Regulation 73-1
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in a variety of situations.
- Experience with the use, modification, and updating of software test tools.
- Ability to understand and translate complex usage concepts and system requirements into actionable test plans.
- Understanding of networking and security concepts.
- Ability to support on-site at APG, MD daily.
- US Citizen with active Secret clearance
Desired
Demonstrated experience in designing and executing tests for applications at scale, including performance, load, and stress testing.
Technical knowledge and hands-on experience testing applications within cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), including familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) principles. Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing. General technical knowledge of Command & Control systems (e.g., CPCE, MCE, DDS, C2I, AFATDS, JADOCS, CPOF, JBC-P).
Knowledge of the US Army Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) Tool Suite for system monitoring and testing.

The proposed salary range for this position is
$99,300 - 208,600 USD
