Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT) is a 5B USD business which creates products, software and technologies found in more than 10 million buildings worldwide. Commercial building owners and occupants use our technologies to ensure their facilities are safe, energy efficient, sustainable and productive.
HBT is looking for a Chief Commercial Officer for India to support its current 260M USD regional business with high growth potential. The role will be responsible for multiple business in India, including HBS, Buildings, EP/Air & Water. This is a key role in HBT, targeted next role will be a GM in the country or in the region. The CCO will be accountable for providing strategic and operational leadership to the strategy, marketing and sales efforts across HBT India. He or She is responsible for developing a robust strategic plan and its execution with an emphasis on driving technology enablement, product innovation, Customer Marketing, Pricing, salesforce effectiveness and channel management. The successful candidate will determine connected strategy in the country (region) and provide priorities for investment in product development and manage product life cycles to maximize profitable growth in the country
This position directly reports to Vice President and General Manager HBT India and matrix reports to VP & CCO HBT GC & APAC.
Specific responsibilities include
· Strategy Development : Lead the STRAP process (Honeywell’s annual strategy planning process), conduct the portfolio analysis and assessment to identify revenue and growth plans by market and product segments
· Offer Management/Product Management : Development of effective marketing plan: market assessment, customer segmentation, value proposition, offer design and value-based pricing. As well as, new product introduction: effective execution of NPIs including commercial readiness.
· Commercial Excellence : Drive Commercial Excellence through rigorous Sales MOS, sales hiring process, sales training, sales operations, sales incentive and enablement tools and performance management. Ultimately owns the revenue numbers for the business he/she supports
· Customer Marketing : Drive end-to-end customer acquisition from prospecting to deal closure to drive growth commitments. Improve existing channels (marketing, sales, partner) through digital marketing and build new channels (if needed). Drive connectivity between sales, marketing and technology.
· Pricing : Set local pricing guideline and governance/approval process together with General Manager, improve overall pricing excellence by closely monitoring and adjusting with the competitive market and internal margin expectation.
· Connected Offering – Develop local connected strategy for the business which would fit into local customer needs and drive its implementation together with local (VP)GMs to solidify the growth opportunities with competitive advantages in the market by leveraging current products portfolio, customer base and install base, fuel the organization long term growth.
· Breakthrough Initiatives : Encourage entrepreneurship spirit among the organization and constantly identify the new business winning opportunities and breakthrough initiatives
Basic Qualifications
· An undergraduate degree in technical/engineering discipline is required along with an MBA from a preferred institute.
· The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in building and leading high performing marketing and commercial excellence teams, preference for someone who has run a P&L before.
· Should have B to B experience in industrial diversified manufacturing, prior consulting experience will be an added advantage.
· The CCO must be a strong, experienced, and collaborative leader who demonstrates the ability to confidently evaluate and commercialize a portfolio of solutions, as well as lead a large global organization within a matrixed environment.
· Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically and influence business decisions using appropriate, fact-based information
· Exhibits breadth across marketing and commercial excellence activities with demonstrable depth in several sub-topics
· Strong interpersonal skills and an outstanding ability to build relationships, influence and navigate within a complex organization.
· Presence and self-confidence to interface and engage with the key constituents internally and externally.
· Ability to multi task at different levels and work simultaneously on multiple priorities
· Ability to develop strong partnerships and a collaborative, teaming environment within and across functional organizations
· Preferred candidate should have experience of working in a matrix environment in a large multinational firm.
· People Management and conflict management skills.
· Ability to understand both Products and Solutions businesses
· Ability to work with senior business leaders
· Strong interpersonal skills are a critical success factor for this role, including: assertiveness, impactful communication style with ability to influence actions/business decisions, high energy level with a bias for action, high credibility/respect from colleagues and customers, and a positive, gets-things-done attitude.
