Summary
The Mechanical Engineer II (Logistics) role is a professional level position responsible for supporting shipping components in a safe and secure manner based on drawing requirements and regulations. These functions include research, design, and developing work instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees product packaging process and activities
- Prepares written work instructions for packaging operations based on drawing specifications
- Ensures compliance with US Department of Transportation and international regulations for the shipment of hazardousmaterials.
- Designs and fabricates packaging for a variety of products.
- Interacts with design agencies, suppliers and internal departments to assist in resolving design, development, production and acceptanceissues
- Requires certification training in the shipment of hazardous materials per 49CFR/IATA
- Supports continuous improvement projects and capacity forecasting
You Must Have
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
- 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
