Senior Project Engineer - Hyper-scale Data Center

Our long-term client is a leading hyperscale data center construction organization, delivering large-scale mission-critical digital infrastructure across multiple geographies. The business is recognised for its commitment to safety, security, operational resilience, technical excellence, and the successful delivery of complex hyperscale data center environments.
They seek an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major hyperscale data center development in Australia. The role requires strong construction delivery experience across large-scale technical infrastructure projects, with direct involvement in hyperscale data center or mission-critical construction environments.
Candidates must have previously worked for a construction company and have hands-on project engineering experience on hyperscale data center builds, either in Australia or internationally.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Support construction delivery across hyperscale data center project workstreams.
- Coordinate site engineering activities, contractors, subcontractors, and technical teams.
- Manage civil, structural, MEP, services, and technical construction interfaces.
- Monitor site progress, quality, safety, programme, and productivity performance.
- Review drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, specifications, and design changes.
- Identify site risks, interface issues, and construction constraints early.
- Support procurement, materials tracking, installation planning, and sequencing.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, registers, and site records.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning support, and handover requirements.
- Ensure works comply with project standards, codes, and client expectations.
- Escalate delivery issues and support practical recovery actions where required.
🔹 Qualifications & Experience
- Must have hyperscale data center construction delivery experience.
- Experience may be gained in Australia or internationally.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, and site delivery.
- Experience across MEP, electrical, cooling, power, or services infrastructure preferred.
- Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and technical work packages.
- Strong knowledge of quality, safety, programme, cost, and change control.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capability.
- Relevant degree in engineering, construction, or project management preferred.
- Australian project experience is advantageous but not essential.
