Risk Associate — Error and Incident Management ( 6 Months Secondment)
Job description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supporting the triage, oversight and effective management of errors, incidents, risk events and near misses recorded on the firm’s Risk Management System.
- Reviewing incident submissions to assess accuracy, completeness, classification, severity, ownership, impacted business area, impacted process and applicable regulatory considerations.
- Engaging with incident owners and relevant business areas to support timely resolution, including appropriate root cause analysis, corrective action, customer remediation, evidence retention and closure activity.
- Monitoring open incidents and associated actions to ensure progress against internal timelines, regulatory timelines and customer remediation expectations.
- Providing oversight and challenge of incident management activity, including the quality of RMS updates, action completion, evidence standards and the effectiveness of resolution activity.
- Supporting the review of incidents submitted for closure, including assessment of whether required actions have been completed, evidenced and appropriately documented.
- Supporting the identification, escalation and reporting of overdue, aged, high severity, recurring or potentially reportable errors and incidents.
- Supporting the preparation and ongoing enhancement of management information relating to errors, incidents, risk events, trends, themes, root causes and remediation activity.
- Supporting error and incident-related training, communications and stakeholder engagement to promote effective incident identification, reporting and management.
- Supporting the wider implementation, monitoring and management of the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including risk framework, risk register, risk and control, and wider Risk Team activities as required.
Skills
- 1-2 years' experience with error management. Experience in ASU/Case management is a benefit.
- Experience working in a risk, compliance, assurance, audit, operational risk, incident management or error management role within financial services.
- Experience managing, reviewing or overseeing risk events, operational incidents, CPC errors, customer-impacting errors or remediation activity.
- Good understanding of risk events, incidents, root cause analysis, corrective actions, control weaknesses, customer detriment and remediation planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with business areas, challenge constructively and summarise issues clearly for senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities, monitor deadlines and work to tight timelines.
Qualifications
- Professional certificates in risk management, operational risk, financial services, governance or a related discipline are desirable but not essential, depending on relevant industry experience.
- Accredited Product Advisor (Loans), or working towards accreditation, is preferred.
