Certified Pharmacy Technician - Job Overview
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5:30PM) | Saturday (8AM-4:30PM)

Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in verifying medication doses and entering patient information.
- Ensure patients receive the correct medication using proper dispensing procedures.
- Maintain an adequate stock of medications and supplies while adhering to safety precautions.
- Reorganize priorities based on workload to ensure timely service delivery.
- Process insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptly.
- Complete and document daily and monthly checklists, including expired drug checks and cleaning.
- Offer and document patient counseling time.
- Communicate effectively with physicians' offices and insurance companies as needed.
- Conduct weekly controlled substance cycle counts and document findings.
- Participate in the education and training of new and existing pharmacy employees.
- Provide positive customer service, maintaining respect and courtesy in all interactions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and report unresolved issues to the Pharmacy Manager.
- Track non-stock requests and recommend par adjustments.
- Support 340b program inventory integrity and maintain prescription files.
- Reconcile prescription fills against billing and perform money collection procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
- Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.
- Must maintain BLS/CPR.
- Must maintain required certifications.
- Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1+ years community pharmacy preferred.
- 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community, and the general public.
- Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management, and managing a cash register.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions. Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
- Computer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.
- Bilingual preferred.
