Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), including load calculations and equipment selection.
- Develop piping layouts, routing, and system specifications (process, utility, and HVAC piping).
- Prepare mechanical design drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD/BIM tools.
- Perform heat load, flow, and stress analysis for HVAC and piping systems.
- Review drawings, P&IDs, and specifications for constructability and compliance.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (MEP) to ensure seamless integration and avoid design clashes.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (ASHRAE, ASME, API, NBC, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Execution & Engineering Judgment
- Plan and execute engineering work requiring independent evaluation, judgment, and adaptation of standard methods.
- Perform assignments with minimal supervision, exercising sound engineering judgment; seek guidance for complex issues when required.
- Execute detailed engineering phases on large projects or complete engineering responsibility on small to mid-scale projects.
- Identify challenges, propose innovative solutions, and communicate changes effectively to stakeholders.
Project Coordination & Leadership
- Coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and project teams.
- Supervise and guide junior engineers and designers; review and check engineering deliverables and drawings.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in client interactions to define project scope, present progress, and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical / HVAC design.
- Experience in industrial / manufacturing / data center / commercial projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP , BIM tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems including chillers, air distribution, cooling strategies, and controls.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE guidelines and applicable building codes.
- Ability to translate complex simulation data into actionable engineering decisions.
- This position requires candidates to work from the Mumbai office.
