This is an exciting opportunity within the broader Cyber & Information Security Office (CISO). The role will play a key part in supporting the management and development of Cyber Security Compliance and Assurance requirements across DCS and GovConnect agencies, ensuring that all compliance and policy obligations are effectively managed.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Assist in reporting and managing compliance with NSW Cyber Security Policy across DCS.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of an Information Security Management System based on ISO27001 across DCS.
  • Maintain Crown Jewels register.
  • Support assurance activities in line with the assurance plan to identify security gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assisting in Influencing and managing diverse stakeholders, including executives to ensure a positive security risk culture.
  • Assisting in providing expert subject matter advisory and support on security and risk matters established in risk mitigation strategies, compliance activities and audits.
  • Interpreting and aligning internal and external requirements, including industry standards, auditors, regulatory bodies, executives, legislative/administrative instruments, and business function requirements.

You will also m anage administration of various compliance activities for DCS, including recurring ISMS maintenance tasks such as:

  • reviewing the ISMS statement of applicability,
  • reviewing the policy exceptions,
  • reviewing regulatory compliance requirements,
  • supporting various audits across DCS.

About you

  • Passion to develop new and enhance existing Compliance and Assurance frameworks and ensure the associated activities are delivered.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and/or maintaining an Information Security Management System based on ISO27001.
  • Experience and sound understanding of ICT Security Governance and Compliance activities, including the implementation and/or maintenance of an ISMS.
  • Collaborative professional comfortable working with technical teams to formulate control statements and verify controls compliance.
  • Background working in ICT Governance and Compliance or assurance role.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory requirements for Governance and Compliance activities that DCS is responsible for.
