Job Summary

The Ocean Pricing Specialist will be responsible for managing ocean freight pricing activities, supporting the Sales and Network teams with competitive quotations, coordinating with shipping lines and overseas partners, and ensuring timely RFQ submissions, rate procurement, and pricing support for both import and export shipments.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and share day-to-day ocean freight quotations with the Sales and Network teams for Import and Export shipments.
  • Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and overseas agents to secure competitive pricing and service commitments.
  • Manage RFQ submissions for Ocean Freight (Import & Export), including rate analysis, internal coordination, and timely submission before deadlines.
  • Coordinate with carriers and operations teams to ensure smooth booking execution and service availability.
  • Maintain and update freight tariffs, surcharges, and market intelligence to ensure pricing competitiveness.
  • Support strategic pricing initiatives by analyzing market trends, trade lane developments, and carrier capacity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, overseas offices, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and customer-specific pricing requirements.

Skills and Qualification

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Ocean Freight Pricing within the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ocean freight pricing, shipping line tariffs, trade lanes, RFQ management, and import/export processes.
  • Good understanding of Incoterms, ocean freight surcharges, and carrier contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
