Organization Overview

The Finance organization at Eli Lilly Taiwan strives to be an essential and trusted business partner, influencing decisions, providing insight, and driving productivity to achieve business results.

  • This role is the primary contact and financial planning lead for Commercial Business Units within Taiwan. Activities include financial control, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
  • The position requires a strong knowledge of finance and accounting, leadership skills, and excellent communication skills in both Taiwanese/Mandarin and English as the successful candidate will be working closely with senior management, global / cross-functional teams, and external partners.

Responsibilities

Planning Cycle

  • Lead and own the full planning cycle including Business Plan, Spring Business Review, Strategic Plan, and Long-Range Plan processes, coordinating across Business Units and global teams.
  • Own the preparation of the affiliate's consolidated financial outlook (revenue and OPEX), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with corporate timelines and standards.
  • Correlate key business data with macroeconomic trends and regional economic indicators to drive forward-looking, insight-driven financial decisions.
  • Provide authoritative analysis of monthly regional financial results, interpreting current performance as a predictive tool for full-year attainment, and communicating findings clearly to the CFO.
  • Design and deliver high-quality presentations for the CFO, BUDs, and global stakeholders that clearly articulate gaps versus plan, key risks and opportunities, and recommended actions.

Strategic Financial Support & Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary financial thought partner to the CFO, proactively identifying opportunities to maximise business upside and mitigate financial risk.
  • Lead pricing management and analysis, including sensitive and confidential analysis commissioned by the CFO.
  • Drive financial evaluation of business development opportunities, new indication proposals (AAP), and other strategic initiatives, providing robust recommendations to enable efficient resource allocation.
  • Partner with the PRA team to support reimbursement strategy and accelerate patient access timelines from a financial modelling perspective.
  • Lead OPEX governance by ensuring Business Units have robust monitoring frameworks and accountability mechanisms in place.

Planning Systems & Process Excellence

  • Serve as the affiliate SME for financial planning and reporting systems (SAP / SAC / Tableau / BOXI), maintaining system integrity and ensuring data quality across affiliate and IBU reporting.
  • Identify, champion, and implement best practices and business process improvements, automation, and simplification initiatives across the FP&A function.

People & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Coach, develop and mentor the Financial Analyst, providing guidance on task execution, analytical approach, and professional growth.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, and global Finance teams, leading financial dialogue without formal authority.
  • Represent the Finance function in cross-functional forums, ensuring the financial perspective is clearly articulated and influences business decisions.

Requirements

  • Min. 2-3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, IT/Tech, Consulting or Audit
  • Presentation/communication skills, ability to effectively communicate and influence across cultures
  • Strong Learning Agility and Curiosity: Ability to thrive in a high pressure and ambiguous environment
  • Cross functional experience in Demand Realization
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
  • Analytical skills: ability to analyze, organize, interpret and present large quantities of data.
  • Desire and ability to think strategically about the business and add value “beyond the numbers”
  • Detail oriented but still able to see the bigger picture, high level of initiative
  • Innovative mindset - willingness to challenge the status quo, seek continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and SAP
  • Competency in accounting and financial concepts
  • Candidate must be fluent in English

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Degree in Business/Commerce/Accounting
  • Accounting and Finance experience and/or certification (e.g., CPA)
  • Systems Use/Knowledge – computer-based skills particularly in SAP, Power BI, Power Automate etc
