In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions. C4ISR Systems offers a broad and healthy contract pipeline to support the growth of Program Managers across their careers.
BAE Systems is seeking a self-motivated and experienced senior program manager to oversee a portfolio of $500M in undersea and acoustic sensor projects. This role is within our Tactical Systems Product Line, supporting the Maritime Sensors & Systems Product Area in the development and production of equipment to meet the growing demand in the US government for undersea sensor and anti-submarine warfare systems. This position has the responsibility for the leadership and management oversight of cross-functional project teams assuring that project’s financials, schedule, and technical objectives are met and that the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved while meeting all contractual commitments. The successful Program Manager will have the opportunity to grow with this portfolio and provide leadership to and be supported by mid-level Program Managers as additional projects are on-boarded.
The candidate must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, FAST Labs technologists, customers, and functional leadership to assure deliveries continue to exceed customer commitments and achievement of financial commitments to the company. Manages, coordinates, plans, organizes, controls, integrates, and executes projects for transition to production and production of undersea and acoustic transducer equipment. Leads in the pursuit of new business in the undersea market and in the development of proposals.
The primary responsibilities of this role include
- Provide leadership and management oversight for undersea and acoustics projects and teams, assuring that Program Area and Product Line objectives are met and that the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Lead and support new business development activities: creating strategic and financial plans for the undersea business, working with FAST Labs to shape and transition undersea opportunities to C4ISR, and leading the pursuit and capture of programs to grow the area.
- Responsible and accountable to the Program Area and Product Line Management for program execution, profitability, timeliness, and overall success. Makes timely decisions that are cost effective to the company and ensures assigned projects meet financial commitments for orders, sales, profit, and cash.
- Accountable for all aspects of assigned program’s execution (cost, schedule, technical performance, quality, risk management, and customer engagement) throughout all the Life Cycle Management (LCM) phases, ensuring program commitments are met while having the authority to make cogent and timely decisions related to the project.
- Develop and mentor program managers assigned to the undersea area, overseeing their program execution and helping to grow their capabilities and as program managers.
- Excellent executive presence and communication skills, including oral presentations and written correspondence.
- Exhibits exceptional interpersonal skills while interfacing with program team members, company personnel, suppliers, and customers.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite 2-3 days per week and remotely. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 10+ years relevant experience.
- Successful, proven past performance in leading and managing multi-discipline defense project teams in a high tempo environment.
- Expertise in project management, earned value management, risk management, and supply chain & subcontract management.
- Effective problem solving skills, evidenced by success in resolving challenging project constraints.
- Strong presentation and organizational skills while interfacing with senior management and customer leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills within a cross functional team environment. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience in the defense aerospace market and delivering program performance for US Navy customers.
- Experience transitioning capability and products from FAST Labs and into programs of record.
- Experience managing complex programs consisting of both development and production.
- Demonstrated business capture success driving business growth.
- Experience in business case development, analysis, and presentation.
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
