Job description

Requirements We are seeking a Foundation Director who will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the 2Roads Foundation. Reporting to the Chairperson and the Board of Directors, the incumbent will oversee the Foundation's operations, implement the Board's strategic direction, manage the Artist Residency Programme, coordinate exhibitions and public programmes, cultivate donor and stakeholder relationships, mobilise funding, develop strategic partnerships, and position the Foundation as a leading arts and cultural institution. The Foundation Director is an executive management position appointed by and accountable to the Board of Directors through the Chairperson. The position does not constitute appointment as a director of the Foundation for purposes of the Companies Act or registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). Key Responsibilities Provide operational leadership and implement the strategic objectives approved by the Board. Manage the Foundation's day-to-day operations, administration, finances and reporting. Lead the planning and delivery of the Artist Residency Programme, exhibitions, public programmes and special events. Build and maintain relationships with artists, donors, sponsors, government, embassies, cultural institutions, galleries, museums, universities and other strategic partners. Develop and implement fundraising initiatives, secure grants and sponsorships, and ensure compliance with donor funding requirements. Promote the Foundation through effective marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement and public representation. Develop operational plans, budgets, policies and performance reports for consideration by the Board. Manage consultants, volunteers and future employees while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and accountability. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, governance standards and organisational policies. Minimum Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Fine Arts, Cultural Management, Business Management, Public Administration or a related field. A minimum of five (5) years' management experience in the arts, cultural, creative or non-profit sector. Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor engagement, programme management and partnership development. Experience in managing exhibitions, artist residency programmes or cultural initiatives will be an added advantage. Competencies Strategic leadership and organisational management.
