Responsibilities

This Warehouse Automation Leader position contributes to the success of PepsiCo through ownership of the warehouse automation operation and directing the salaried and front-line team to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to cost, system efficiencies, waste, safety, and productivity.

This role will manage cross-functional salaried and frontline employees including warehouse loaders, system operators, and maintenance technicians. The position will partner with the Sector Warehouse Automation Team for the successful operation of warehouse automation technology at a facility, executing the Site Readiness, Training & Capability, Implementation, Change Management, and Hyper Care Support Plans (includes site metric analysis and issue documentation and resolution).

This role will deliver a seamless operational transition and sustained integration of new technologies, minimizing any adverse effects on the Go-To-Market operation.

Site Readiness & Change Management

  • Support site preparation infrastructure, engineering, and operational site readiness work to ensure effective system installation and CQV processes.
  • Deliver effective change leadership to drive business changes while minimizing people impact.

Deliver Success & Improve Processes

  • Support the development of system metrics, knowledge sharing, and creating the One Best Way to deliver success with warehouse automation.
  • Develop processes and implement warehouse operational system improvements through staffing, employee capability, space and budget optimization and analysis.
  • Apply knowledge of Early Management (EM) processes, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) processes, equipment, and system capability for individual and facility standards.
  • Tracks key performance indicators/costs, anticipates, and corrects trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets.
  • Manages accurate inventory processes, including daily inventory counts and period close responsibilities, ensuring continual adherence to control and compliance requirements.

Manage & Develop Employees

  • Directly manage employees in a warehouse environment with a focus on delivering a positive employee experience and excellent service to the GTM team and our customers.
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, pre-shift meetings, and overall communication for front-line personnel.
  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals by having a 65-75% regular presence on the plant / warehouse floor.
  • Develop and execute the successful onboarding, training, and integration of system personnel.
  • Ensure that maintenance technicians and staff are executing required maintenance programs, supporting their management and development as is necessary to maintain equipment reliability.

Technical Expertise

  • Maintain equipment reliability through proper CM (Corrective Maintenance), PM (Preventive Maintenance), and Predictive Maintenance methods and processes.
  • Ensure proper utilization of critical TPM tools, including CL (Centerline), CIL (Clean Inspect Lubricate), BDA (Breakdown Analysis), and DMS (Daily Management Systems) tools such as the Shift Assessment Tool
  • Sets and achieves performance standards with regards to safety, equipment utilization, and pallet build quality.
  • Ensure proper utilization of established CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with OEM Automation vendors to solve problems and drive improvements.

  • Ensures compliance with all health & safety regulations.
  • Administer policies and procedures.
  • This role may operate automation equipment occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $93,500 - $156,450.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing, warehousing, or operations experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s in operations management, supply chain, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an automation warehouse environment – specifically with equipment reliability, order fulfillment, inventory, and automation software systems such as WMS, SAP, CMMS, OEM UI/HMI, and Power Apps.
  • Ability to work off-shift, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to work in a labor-intensive role requiring lifting, loading, pushing, and pulling cases weighing from 20-45 pounds per case, as well as bending, reaching, and squatting while moving products.
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
