SUMMARY

In the role of Paint Kitchen your core responsibility will be to maintain the paint kitchen, storage and water treatment areas (sludge system, Palin unit, chemical treatment, and DI (deionization) system). This role is responsible for forecasting both long- and short-term paint and chemical needs based on production schedules. Additionally, this role will write requisitions, call in orders, follow-up on deliveries to ensure timely release from supplier holding / warehouse.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to repair decks and hulls, do spray touch up, wet sand and buff
  • Maintain FIFO (first in, first out) and optimum inventory levels at the suppliers' warehouse and YMMC.
  • Measure and mix paint to TDS (technical data sheets) specifications using knowledge and skills to incorporate approved materials
  • Flush and load pumps and robots, on line side and kitchen, based on production schedules.
  • Perform routine inspection and basic preventive and autonomous maintenance on fluid delivery and other assigned systems and equipment.
  • Move paint buckets and drums using carts and fork trucks
  • Handle the waste drums and recycle drums and ensure all labels are attached per regulations and standards.
  • Work as back up for repair, line operators and inspector when and as needed.
  • Perform tests on washers, control chemistry within control plan and specified limits and report variations outside of control limits when encountered.
  • Maintain all regulatory documentation and data, including flow rates of recirculated water.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong work ethic, on-time attendance performance, with a high degree of reliability is required to be successful in this role.
  • Must interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to take on different roles within your assigned line, as business needs require.
  • Enough physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting; standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working overhead, and operating motorized equipment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must not be allergic to chemicals used in pretreatment and painting systems or processes such as toluene, MEK, acetone, acid cleaner, SMC/IMC dusts, silica found in sandpaper, etc.

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) required.
  • LOTO certified or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment, required.
  • Confined space certified or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment, required.
  • Forklift Certified or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment, required.
  • Computer literate and well versed with Excel is required.
  • Microsoft Outlook and PYMAC (PAN Yamaha Manufacturing Control system) experience preferred.
  • Prior experience using precision measuring instruments and tools and convert units of measure, required.
  • Prior experience maintaining production and quality data is required.
  • Prior exposure to AM, production schedules and paint technical data sheets is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

80 - 100% of your time is on the manufacturing facility floor. This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment. No travel is required in this role.
