Are you ready to love your job?

The adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As Data Scientist – Machine Learning and Analytics, you will make the operational data of OCC Assistant Manager — SITA's AI-powered Operations Control Center solution for airline disruption management — speak: automatically reconstructing disruptions from Ops Control and Crew Control data, explaining how airlines resolved them and quantifying the value created by OCC Assistant Manager.

You will analyze operational database changes such as delays, aircraft swaps, crew swaps and operational activities, build trusted analytical models, measure OCC Assistant Manager usage and solution quality, and create business cases that show airline savings.

Reporting to the Head of Disruption Management Solutions (OCC Assistant Manager), you will be part of the OCC Assistant Manager team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and build the databases, data models and processes needed to analyze operational data
  • Reconstruct operational disruptions automatically from Ops Control and Crew Control database changes
  • Aggregate events such as aircraft swaps, crew swaps, delays and operational activities into a clear view of what happened during the day
  • Analyze how the airline resolved each disruption, whether OCC Assistant Manager was used and whether OCC Assistant Manager proposed good solutions
  • Create customer-facing reports, dashboards and business cases that quantify OCC Assistant Manager value, savings and operational impact
  • Create internal KPIs, metrics and management reporting to improve the product and understand customer operations
  • Apply machine learning where it adds value: disruption detection, pattern detection, forecasting, anomaly detection or risk scoring
  • Support Science, onboarding and automatic OCC Assistant Manager configuration with exploratory analysis and data-driven insight

Qualifications External

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated ability to write advanced SQL queries and analyze complex operational database changes over time
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, event aggregation and analysis, using pandas, scikit-learn or similar
  • Ability to define KPIs, value metrics and business cases that connect operational events to customer savings
  • Proven capability to identify patterns in operational changes and determine when to use machine learning versus simpler analysis
  • Experience building clear dashboards and analytical products that explain disruptions, resolutions and OCC Assistant Manager value
  • Ability to validate whether data is correct from an operational and business perspective
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical, operational and customer-facing stakeholders
  • A curious, rigorous mindset, comfortable with messy real-world operational data
  • Motivation to learn airline OCC workflows, crew-control concepts and the OCC Assistant Manager data model

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience with airline operations, Ops Control, Crew Control, OCC KPIs or disruption management
