WAREHOUSE & INVENTORY STRATEGIC CONSULTANT - DEFENSE

Overview

We are seeking a consultant with strong operations expertise to support a Warehouse & Inventory Strategy project. The role requires a senior, client-facing professional with a deep understanding of the interdependencies across operational functions throughout the value creation process.

General Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant industry or consulting experience
• Demonstrated senior, client-facing presence
• Candidates based in the Middle East region are preferred

Required Operations Expertise

The consultant should demonstrate a strong understanding of the interdependencies across operational functions throughout the value creation process, specifically:

Procurement

Solid understanding of strategic procurement processes and responsibilities, including category management, framework agreements, demand forecasting, supplier strategy development, and strategic sourcing.

Logistics

Advanced knowledge of logistics operations, ideally within the defense industry, including export controls, import regulations, freight management and consolidation, transportation mode optimization, and customs coordination.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

Exceptional expertise in warehousing and inventory strategy, including warehouse pooling, inventory optimization, warehouse layout planning, storage strategy development, and capacity planning. This is the core competency for the role.

Production

General understanding of production processes and optimization levers, including Make-to-Order vs. Make-to-Stock strategies, production scheduling, lot sizing optimization, production steering, and capacity planning.

Forecasting & Planning

Advanced capabilities in forecasting and planning processes, including sales forecasting, demand planning, S&OP processes, forecast accuracy improvement, and scenario planning.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate combines hands-on operational depth in warehousing and inventory with a broad end-to-end supply chain perspective spanning procurement, logistics, production, and planning.

Defense industry exposure is a strong advantage.

The consultant must be comfortable operating at a senior level with client stakeholders in a project delivery environment.
