Role Overview

The Technical Support Engineer provides technical expertise and support for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring reliable system performance and a positive customer experience. This role works closely with customers, installers, and internal teams to troubleshoot technical issues, support system commissioning and configuration, and deliver timely resolutions while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
  • Highly preferred: Licensed Engineer (REE, RME, or equivalent engineering license).
  • Strong background in solar energy, renewable energy systems, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related technical fields.
  • With 3-5 years of experience in the installation, commissioning, technical support, troubleshooting, or maintenance of solar or renewable energy-related products.
  • Solid understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, inverters, monitoring platforms, and other related components.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willing to travel to project sites and customer locations as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical support contact for customers, installers, and internal stakeholders regarding solar PV systems and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving solar panels, inverters, monitoring platforms, and other system components through remote or on-site support as required.
  • Provide guidance on system installation, commissioning, configuration, operation, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Monitor installed systems, analyze performance data, and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency, reliability, and system uptime.
  • Escalate complex technical concerns to engineering teams or equipment manufacturers when necessary, while ensuring timely follow-through and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical support cases, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and system performance.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of technical documentation, user guides, knowledge base articles, and training materials.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and provide recommendations to support product improvements, process enhancements, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
