Assistant Commercial Manager - Projects

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to RFQs, with a particular focus on strategic key accounts such as Seatrium, aiming to increase quotation participation, enhance competitiveness and improve overall win rates
  • Support RFQ submissions and commercial proposals for new business opportunities, ad hoc customer inquiries and prospective client accounts
  • Source, analyze and benchmark freight rates, transportation costs and supplier quotations to ensure commercially competitive and profitable tender submissions
  • Coordinate and prepare tender submissions for project logistics opportunities in collaboration with operational, procurement and overseas network teams.
  • Attend to RFQs, tenders and pricing requests received from the deugro global network, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Provide commercial, pricing and tender support to Project Teams throughout the bidding and project execution lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with customers, overseas offices, service providers and internal stakeholders to develop tailored logistics solutions that meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Maintain detailed records of RFQs, quotations, tender outcomes and award status to support business pipeline management and performance reporting
  • Analyze tender results, customer feedback and market trends to identify opportunities for improving pricing strategies and increasing tender success rates
  • Support key account development initiatives by maintaining strong relationships with customers and proactively identifying new project opportunities

Skills, knowledge, and expertise

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant working experience in commercial operations, tender and quotation management, project coordination, contract administration, freight forwarding or customer account management
  • Proven experience supporting project-based businesses and managing commercial activities within a multinational corporation (MNC) environment
  • Strong understanding of tender submission processes, quotation preparation, contract documentation, pricing analysis and project commercial management
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, contractors and internal cross-functional teams
  • IT-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems and commercial/project management tools
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure and high-volume environment
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service mindset
