Job description

Our client is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to support daily IT infrastructure operations across two manufacturing facilities. This role combines Tier II/III technical support with hands‑on administration of servers, networks, end‑user systems, and helpdesk workflows. The engineer will ensure stable, secure, and efficient IT operations while traveling between both sites as business needs require.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands‑on environment, solving complex technical issues, and maintaining reliable systems in a fast‑paced production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and technical solutions.
  • Travel regularly between the Midway and Tazewell facilities as required.
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support and oversee daily helpdesk operations.
  • Maintain compliance with company IT security standards and best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime across multiple locations.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and core IT infrastructure.
  • Perform system updates, patching, backups, disaster recovery procedures, and routine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement new technologies and improve IT operations.
  • Support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to commute regularly between both Tennessee facilities.
  • Experience managing helpdesk operations or Tier II/III escalations.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms, network switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or network administration.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft technologies.

  • Experience supporting multi‑site IT environments.
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Strong customer‑service mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and implementing new technologies.
