The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: What You will Do:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for smart glasses and wearable devices using NX (Siemens)
- Create detailed 2D drawings with proper GD&T callouts per ASME Y14.5 standards
- Perform basic stress analysis (FEA) to validate designs and material selections
- Build and assemble prototypes using hand tools and lab equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, optical, firmware, and industrial design engineers
- Support design reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and DFM/DFA evaluations
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during prototyping and testing phases
- Document design decisions, test results, and lessons learned
What You Will Bring
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in NX (Siemens) CAD software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
- Working knowledge of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5)
- Basic understanding of electronics (PCBs, connectors, flex circuits, sensors)
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, prototyping, and mechanical assembly
- Exposure to stress analysis / FEA tools (NX Nastran, ANSYS, or similar)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with miniaturized consumer electronics or wearable devices
- Familiarity with materials commonly used in wearables (plastics, magnesium, titanium, adhesives)
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC machining, die casting)
- Internship or project experience related to smart glasses, AR/VR headsets, or similar products
Pay Range: 100000 - 120000.
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements
This role is considered an on-site position located in New York
- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
