About the role

Trideca is recruiting on behalf of a global asset manager with trading operations across Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney. Their Sydney trading floor moves fast, and they're looking for an Desktop L1/L2 support Engineer who can match that pace: someone who thinks on their feet, communicates with polish, and can be trusted to run solo support for a floor of executives and traders.

If you're at your best working things out logically in an unstructured environment, and you take real pride in delivering support that's fast, calm and professional, this is a rare opportunity to own a high-visibility role at the centre of a live trading floor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Front-line support for trading floor and front office staff — desktop, Teams, email and general troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration: managing devices through Intune and Entra, supporting Exchange, and handling SharePoint permissions.
  • Basic troubleshooting of Cisco Meraki-managed network connectivity — diagnosing and escalating where needed.
  • Base-level AV troubleshooting for meeting rooms and trading floor screens and audio.
  • Logging and working tickets through JIRA, and staying responsive across Teams and email.
  • Being the trusted, go-to face of IT support for a floor of senior executives and traders.
  • Mid to senior level support experience, and the confidence to work solo in an unfamiliar, lightly documented environment.
  • Genuine, hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience — Intune, Entra, Exchange and SharePoint permissions — gained from actually running these day to day.
  • Some exposure to Cisco Meraki-managed networks.
  • First-class communication and presentation — this is a front office, client-facing environment where polish matters.
  • A logical, methodical approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to isolate a problem without a documented process to follow.
  • Experience in financial services, ideally supporting a trading floor or front office function.
  • Experience supporting VIPs, executives or traders directly.
  • A high-trust, high-visibility position at the centre of a live trading floor.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and trading teams.
  • The chance to make an immediate, visible impact from day one.

What You Bring

  • Mid to senior level support experience, and the confidence to work solo in an unfamiliar, lightly documented environment.
  • Genuine, hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience — Intune, Entra, Exchange and SharePoint permissions — gained from actually running these day to day.
  • Some exposure to Cisco Meraki-managed networks.
  • First-class communication and presentation — this is a front office, client-facing environment where polish matters.
  • A logical, methodical approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to isolate a problem without a documented process to follow.
  • Comfort being the only support person onsite, five days a week.
