Job Overview
As a National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for executing the national sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding the organization's sales network. This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on field management, focusing on achieving sales targets, strengthening relationships with distributors and sales representatives, and increasing market penetration. You will lead, coach, and motivate sales teams while implementing effective sales initiatives to maximize business performance and support sustainable growth.
Core Responsibilities
- Operational Sales & Route-to-Market
- Develop Route-to-Market Strategy & Implementation: Sales channel development, driving distribution depth & width, evaluation of channel profitability and optimization, distributor network management
- Territory Sales Targets: Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual national volume and revenue targets through the independent channel.
- Inventory & Order Fulfillment: Monitor sales and build forecasting methods to ensure independent representatives and hubs have optimal product availability without over or under ordering.
- Trade Promotion Execution: Roll out corporate trade marketing initiatives, point-of-sale toolkits, and promotional product bundles directly to the field.
- Market Intelligence: Collect and report real-time competitor pricing, product trends, and market feedback from the field to internal marketing and supply chain teams.
- Field Coaching, Training & Growth (Direct Selling Focus)
- Network Recruitment Operations: Drive daily and weekly network growth by helping independent representatives organize, host, and close local recruitment meetings and webinars.
- Sales Training Duplication: Implement and deliver a structured training curriculum covering product benefits, basic FMCG merchandising, and digital social selling.
- High-Potential Leader Coaching: Act as a hands-on business coach for top-tier independent network leaders, helping them build their teams and increase their monthly order volumes.
- Incentive Activation: Actively pitch and promote corporate sales incentives, rank advancement bonuses, and travel rewards to maximize network participation and energy.
- Community Engagement & Compliance
- Field Events & Webinars: Host regional rallies, local product launch events, and high-energy virtual meetings to keep the network motivated and aligned.
- Digital Community Management: Coordinate daily engagement and information flow across localized network communication channels (WhatsApp, app based, etc.).
- Field Compliance: Monitor and enforce corporate policies regarding retail pricing, territorial boundaries, and ethical product representations to protect brand equity.
Key Performance Indicators
- National Volume & Revenue: Monthly achievement of target cases/units shifted through the network.
- Active Representative Rate: The percentage of the independent database placing consistent monthly orders.
- Recruitment Velocity: The monthly run rate of new independent representatives joining the network.
- Promotional SKU Adoption: The speed and volume at which the field purchases and sells newly launched products.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of sales management experience. A background that combines FMCG territory sales management (e.g., managing wholesale or van sales networks) with Direct Selling or MLM network operations is highly preferred.
- Management Style: Proven capability in "Influence Without Authority." Ability to drive performance, urgency, and accountability from an independent workforce that does not legally report to you.
- Communication Style: High-energy presenter comfortable speaking on camera for digital webinars or addressing large crowds at local field events.
- Analytical Ability: Proficient in tracking sales data, monitoring inventory levels, and translating spreadsheets into actionable territory sales plans.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% for face-to-face field support, regional meetings, and community events.
