Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 to 4 years of relevant welding experience
• ASNT NDT Level III Certification
• One relevant technical certification (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Supervisor, AWS Certified Weld Inspector)

Skills and Proficiencies:
• Ability to read and interpret specifications
• Comprehension of shipboard installation drawings, blueprints, and job orders
• Expertise in using ARC and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair various components
• Proficient in welding in all positions for diverse metals and alloys
• Experience in thermal cutting and grinding
• Ability to repair and enhance metal parts
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership capabilities

Safety and Physical Requirements:
• Occupational Safety Haz-Mat Certification
• Shipyard Competent Person Certification
• Aloft/Climbing Certification
• Confined Spaces Certification
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs safely

Security and Work Locations:
• Primarily based in San Diego, CA, and Norfolk, VA, with travel to various shipyards in the USA and international Navy ports
• Work occurs at government facilities; US Citizenship and eligibility for clearance required
• Must pass a background investigation and possess a valid driver's license

Other Responsibilities:
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Maintain and secure company tools and equipment
• Organize and manage welding inventory
• Schedule and ensure timely completion of welding tasks

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift over 100 pounds and maintain 60 pounds for extended periods
• Capable of relocating a 12-foot stepladder independently
• Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet
• Regularly perform actions such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching
• Good vision and hearing abilities; able to communicate effectively in English
• Assess and recognize potential issues
• Apply general rules to specific situations
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
