Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
- Own the integrated hybrid powertrain verification
- Take the systems engineering inputs of a turboshaft / turbogenerator powertrain system including batteries, motors and other complex mechanical parts and verify the system through test
- Own the verification of the turbogenerator on the test-bench and into the aircraft including the start of the flight test campaign
- Contribute to the design reviews of the turbogenerator in providing expert test and operation knowledge
- Manage suppliers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure verification can happen safely and on time
- Ensure 3rd party stakeholders deliver on-time
- Ensure all verification activities can be performed safely
What you’ll need:
- BS / MS / PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.
- 10+ years experience in complex system verification
- Ability to operate quickly and to tight timelines in ensuring testing happens on time and can provide sufficient
- Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of systems engineering
- Experience with industry-standard tools and operational behaviours for turbine and / or electrical systems
- A systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex, technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives alone and to tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains
- Prior experience with turboshafts, turbines and turbogenerators
- Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification
- Knowledge of simulation model validation, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification methods
