General Description / Primary Purpose:

This is work supervising custodial staff and building maintenance in accordance with the APPA cleaning standards.


Job Function:

  • Supervises the cleaning of the University

  • Conducts inspections

  • Performs administrative duties

  • Maintains supply inventory

  • Supervises equipment maintenance

  • Handles personnel matters

  • Trash pickup and after-hour services.\

Supplementary Responsibilities.

  • Special Events and event equipment maintenance

  • Performs preventive maintenance of equipment for respective areas on the first working day of every month

Plans, gives instructions on, and inspects the completion of:

  • Special set-up requests

  • Graduations

  • Providing manpower during events

  • Clean up after events

  • Work orders

  • Campus emergencies

  • Coordinate work with other trades and departments as necessary

This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.

Supervision Exercised:

Custodial Workers, Sr. Custodial Worker & OPS Custodial Workers as necessary.

Supervision Received:

The supervisor reviews the incumbent's work for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed.

 

Required Qualifications

High school diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
