Senior Database Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer to play a key technical role within our Security Analytics and Reporting domain. This position focuses on designing, optimizing, and operating database-centric solutions.

The role is centred on a structured database environment that supports security reporting, data correlation, and operational insights. You will work closely with Security Engineers, Analysts, and Platform teams to ensure that security-related data is well-modelled, performant, and reliably accessible for analytics and reporting use cases.

This is a hands-on role with strong ownership of database design, query performance, and data integration from multiple upstream sources.

Your Key Tasks:

• Database Architecture & Design
  • Design and maintain robust database schemas optimized for reporting and analytical queries.
  • Ensure data models are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with security use cases.
• Performance & Optimization
  • Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries.
  • Perform query tuning and database performance troubleshooting.
• Data Integration
  • Retrieve and integrate data from diverse sources, including REST APIs, into the database environment.
  • Ensure data consistency, quality, and reliability across datasets.
• Operational Ownership
  • Support database operations in Linux-based environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure availability and access control.
• Collaboration & Guidance
  • Work closely with Security Engineers and Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into efficient data structures.
  • Contribute to best practices for database usage, querying, and documentation.

For this senior-level position, we expect:

• 8–10 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong expertise in database schema design, optimization, and SQL best practices
• Proven ability to write efficient, complex SQL queries and perform query optimization
• Solid experience working with relational databases in analytics or reporting contexts
• Good working knowledge of Linux administration
• Strong Python skills, particularly for retrieving and processing data from REST APIs
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools
