The role
We have a great opportunity for interns completing their "Referendariat" for our Luxembourg office. As a Referendar(in) you will be joining one of our departments: Investment Funds, Global Financial Markets, Corporate, Tax or Litigation and Dispute resolution at Clifford Chance. You will be responsible for supporting the lawyers in their work and will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys across various legal fields, gaining invaluable insights and hands-on experience.
Some of the various responsibilities during your time in our team will include:
- Assist with research on legal issues and case law to support ongoing cases and transactions.
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, and contracts under the supervision of senior lawyers.
- Assisting in the review of various agreements;
- Participate in client meetings to gain practical exposure.
- Analyse and summarise legal materials for internal and external use.
- Engage in due diligence processes in corporate transactions.
- Perform legal administrative tasks as required.
- Attending internal meetings, trainings and conferences.
Your experience
- Completion of the First State Examination (Erstes Staatsexamen) in law with above-average results.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English – fluency in French would be a strong asset.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a legal career.
- Commitment to the full term of the Referendariat as required by the relevant legal authorities.
- Being open-minded and able to show team spirit, commitment to quality service as well as the ability to adapt easily.
