Job description
The MI Manager oversees the Biogen ANZ Medicines Access Program (e.g. compassionate use, product familiarisation and cost-share programs), and assists the Medical Manager with the logistics of Biogen sponsored testing of specific antibodies (e.g. anti-natalizumab and anti-JCV antibodies). The MI Manager is responsible for quality activities including updating standard operating procedures (SOPs). A component of the Medical Information Role may also be the review and approval of Biogen materials according to the promotional review committee procedures.
1. Provide technical and MI to external customers (HCPs, third party vendors and internal staff (sales and marketing) Ensuring the latest Product Information or Data Sheet is incorporated into the standard response letters to respond to MI inquiries Ensuring MI responses are balanced and accurate Liaise with Global MI if escalation is required in order to respond to MI enquiries Maintain the enquiry database and references database Continually review current administrative systems used within medical information and liaise with Global MI regarding updates and changes Establish and maintain a MI library Conduct literature search for sales & marketing, clinical research, regulatory affairs and specific Key Medical Experts (KMEs) Conduct copyright training and maintain the copyright licence for the local affiliate Create and maintain consumer medical information materials for an external vendor to utilise Provide oversight and accountable for the consumer medical information services being provided by an external vendor 2. Create reports from the MI insights derived from internal and external customers and share the report to to the relevant medical and brand managers as well as during the Integrated Brand Team meetings Recommending actions to address trending issues early for optimal patient outcomes 3. Management of Biogen’s Medicines Access Program (e.g. Compassionate Use, Expanded Access Programs, Product Familiarisation Programs, Cost-Share Programs) Process new and ongoing compassionate supply of products as per SOP and maintain the Compassionate Supply database 4. Manage logistics regarding anti-natalizumab antibody testing requests and results of tests Manage medical related vendors such as World Courier with the Senior Medical Affairs and Operational Excellence Manager Respond to enquiries regarding logistics of anti-JCV antibody testing requests and results 5. Assistance with the review of materials for external use according to the promotional review committee procedures
At least 4 years proven experience as a Medical Information Associate within a pharmaceutical/biotechnology organization Ability to set up and manage databases Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures and to scientific qual
The main purpose of the Medical Information (MI) Manager role is to provide technical and MI to external customers (healthcare professionals (HCPs), third party vendors) and internal staff (sales and marketing) on wide range of products and therapeutic areas. The MI Manager is also responsible for Medical Analytics which involves the generation of useful insights from MI records and sharing these insights with the relevant brand teams.
