Job description
Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. May require a bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
This position involves a broad range of activities including developing Flight Controls Systems/Software Test Cases and Test Procedures from system/software requirements, initiating and conducting Test Case and Test Procedure reviews, debugging test procedures/scripts, performing dry runs, performing formal test execution, analyzing test results and creating test results review packets. The candidate will work closely with the system/software development engineers, HAM (Honeywell Autocode Manager) and HiLite (Honeywell Integrated Lifecycle Tools and Environment) groups in understanding the implementation of models related to a particular functionality to resolve testing issues and test failures. The candidate will also routinely interface with program managers. All verification activities will be performed in compliance within DO-178B certification authority guidelines. The ability to multi-task on multiple programs while maintaining priorities and schedules is a must. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with proven communications, interpersonal, team building and problem solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications: • A Bachelor degree or higher in Aero, EE or ME is required • 4-6 years of aerospace systems/software development or test • Experience with embedded real time system/software development life cycle • Strong knowledge of DO-178B “Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification” • The ability to multi-task on multiple programs while maintaining priorities and schedules is a must Preferred: • 4 years experience testing systems/software requirements per DO-178B objectives • Previous experience with the HAM and HiLite tools •
